This course starts by unpacking key concepts surrounding the topic of inclusion, followed by looking at representation in teaching materials. It finishes by critiquing the term inclusion and suggesting that the ultimate goal of inclusive practice is to create a sense of belonging in class.

$280.00

We’ll begin by unpacking foundational concepts, helping you build a deeper understanding of what inclusion means beyond surface-level definitions. From there, the course shifts into practical classroom strategies—how to foster empathy, build community, offer meaningful choices, and adapt your teaching to meet diverse learner needs.

You’ll also critically explore representation in teaching materials, asking important questions about whose voices are (and aren’t) being heard. The course culminates in a reflective discussion that challenges conventional understandings of inclusion, proposing that the real goal is to cultivate belonging—for every student.

This course is designed for teachers who want to:

  • Better understand the complexities of inclusion and diversity in ELT.
  • Learn actionable strategies to make their classrooms more welcoming and effective for all learners.
  • Engage in meaningful discussions with fellow educators on real-world classroom challenges.
  • Reflect on their own practice and grow as inclusive practitioners.

Each week, you’ll read one or more chapters of the book, participate in a live session to discuss insights and classroom applications, and contribute to a private online forum for deeper reflection and dialogue.

Join us to rethink what inclusion can mean in your teaching—and how small changes can make a big difference in your learners’ lives.
