Or, are you already familiar with teaching with Dogme in your classroom?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Then, this course is for you!<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">In this course&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\">We\u2019ll use helpful visuals, and examples from the book, to frame what it looks and feels like to teach in a way that is organic, responsive and learner-directed<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">We\u2019ll also explore how to integrate this approach in our wider teaching context &#8211; where we need to prep students for exams, meet stakeholder expectations, and demonstrate value<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">We\u2019ll reflect on our own teacher journeys using the Quadrant Map, and consider what it means to \u2018mode-shift\u2019 as teachers &#8211; so we can teach in a way that feels authentic to us and our students, without neglecting the curriculum<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">Across 6 weeks, we\u2019ll focus on six key areas, sharing our own lessons and ideas along the way via online forums and weekly live sessions with the co-founder of Dogme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h2 style=\"\">Course schedule<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week One: <\/strong>How to work with Dogme &#8211; why the three pillars (conversation-driven, materials-light, and focused on emergent language) need to work in harmony, and how this differs from traditional, linear teaching<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week Two: <\/strong>How to work with people &#8211; why conversation matters, what it means today, <u>and how to include students and colleagues in our rationale<\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week Three: <\/strong>How to work with content &#8211; why less is more when it comes to materials, and why the direction of travel (top-down or bottom-up) really counts<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week Four: <\/strong>How to work with emergent language &#8211; choices and strategies for effective teaching, reference and practice &#8211; and why we shouldn\u2019t just focus on grammar<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week Five: <\/strong>How to work with the curriculum &#8211; what it means to \u2018mode-switch\u2019 in class, transitioning between organic and linear teaching styles, and why we need to do it in today\u2019s classroom<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Week Six:<\/strong> How to use Dogme intentionally &#8211; mapping our experience as teachers, understanding when it makes sense to unplug, and when to do more of it!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<p style=\"\">Live online Zoom sessions will be held four times in May on Sundays at 09:00 UTC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Live session dates: May 24, 31, and June 7, 14, 21, and 28<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Time: 09:00\u201310:00 UTC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/worldclock\/fixedtime.html?msg=Dogme+in+Practice&amp;iso=20260524T09&amp;p1=1440&amp;ah=1\" target=\"_blank\">Check your local time<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Cost: $240 USD*<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\">The course includes six live sessions plus ongoing meaningful discussions each week in a private forum.<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">Due to Luke&#8217;s high quality interaction with each &nbsp;participant and the hands-on workshop nature of this course, &nbsp;registration will be limited to 30.<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">To receive a certificate, you will be expected to attend &nbsp;weekly live sessions (or watch the recordings) and participate in course &nbsp;forum discussions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"\">*<strong>Receipts for research funds, etc., can be provided on request.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h2 style=\"\">Advanced Skills Courses<\/h2>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">This 6-week online iTDi Advanced Skills course will bring up &nbsp;to 30 teachers together in our user-friendly iTDi online classroom every Sunday, and then continue throughout the week \u2013- sharing, discussing and reflecting in a private, but vibrant, online community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">As a registered participant, don\u2019t worry if you have to miss a live class or if the time for the live sessions doesn&#8217;t work well for your time zone. You\u2019ll receive weekly recordings of each class, full &nbsp;transcripts of the text chat during class, assigned readings and a PDF of the PowerPoint slides. Furthermore, the online community will &nbsp;certainly become a wealth of ideas and information, and will remain &nbsp;private and online for your use anytime in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h2 style=\"\">Scholarships<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<p style=\"\">iTDi believes that all teachers deserve the same opportunity to improve &nbsp;themselves. From our experience, teachers who pay something towards a &nbsp;course more often make a greater effort and are more likely to complete the course. Therefore, we do encourage teachers to pay something toward the course if at all possible. We prioritize partial scholarships, but a limited number of full scholarships may also be available for this course. Please apply through our scholarship application. In 2000, he co-founded the Dogme in ELT movement with Scott Thornbury, then wrote a column about it for the UK\u2019s <em>Guardian<\/em> newspaper. Luke and Scott published their influential <em>Teaching Unplugged<\/em> (Delta) in 2009, winning a British Council ELTon award for the book the following year.
