Concepts to get you&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>started!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Here we will learn and discuss basic postures and practices that are&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">important to create a nurturing language learning environment. In this<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">first session, we will explore and share how teachers can<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">communicate with students in an authentic way and foster positive<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">emotions while inviting learners to express themselves in the foreign<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">language. We will also explore together how to prepare the<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">classroom, receive students, and get them ready to live the target<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">language through memorable experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h3 style=\"\">Session 2<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>How can my students learn affectively? Resources to empower&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>you and your learners!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">After our introductory week, we will explore how affect can be lived&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">through a myriad of activities using everyday and readily available<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">resources such as playdoh, buttons, coins, handkerchiefs, plastic<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">letters, flashcards, pictures, games, among many others. Special<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">focus will be given to the role of listening, validating, and sharing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h3 style=\"\">Session 3<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>How can I unleash my learners\u2019 creativity and fantasy through&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>play? Storytelling and puppeteering to spark learning!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Storytelling and puppeteering connect us to ancient human rituals of&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">listening and learning. Here we will dig into ways of promoting multisensorial<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">experiences that make students get in touch and live the<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">language and multiple possibilities present in stories and plays. We<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">will also check some activities that will allow students to play<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">collectively with the language they are learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vibe_editor_rich_text\">\n<h3 style=\"\">Session 4<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>How can I make writing and grammar enjoyable and meaningful?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>Concepts and practices to get your students\u2019 written language<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><strong>right!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Writing and grammar can be lived in meaningful and empowering<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">ways when we used as a personal means of expression and ideas<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">are shared with the wider community. He is the founding director of Juan Uribe Ensino Afetivo, a language school for young learners, where children learn English affectively through play, games, storytelling, and puppeteering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">His focus is on empowering language teachers to create rich learning environments in which young learners are truly engaged, motivated, and energized. Juan has been in an amazing journey visiting language schools for children around the world where he has both conducted teacher development programs as well as enchanted young audiences with Buddy the Frog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Juan holds a Bachelors degree in Education from the Catholic University in S\u00e3o Paulo (PUC-SP) and a Masters in Education in Human Development and Applied Psychology from the University of Toronto.
